(HOLLYWOOD, CA - 5/3/14) -- BAIT-CAL Worldwide has taken a major step towards changing the way America looks at it's Muslim community. Late last year, when the company launched their new Internet channel MNM-TV, its hope was to offer a different look at Muslims, by providing free television programming that highlights the diverse aspects of Muslim-American culture and history. Now six- months later, the channel's viewing audience has grown significantly and is beginning to make an impact on America's media landscape. MNM-TV features an incredible slate of television programs that provide real images of Muslim-American culture through movies, documentaries, short films, news, comedy, music, arts, faith, and more. Viewers can watch films, TV series and specials that give a Muslim- American voice to the world of entertainment and news. “We want to present today's Muslim-American to the world and let people judge for themselves what Islam and Muslims are all about,” said Lon Muqaddin, V.P. of Operations for BAIT-CAL. “We can't continue to let ourselves be defined by others in the media. Their voices are loud and distorted. MNM wants to serve as a catalyst to break that trend and responsibility is incumbent upon all of us." MNM-TV delivers programming 24-hours a day. Viewers have the option of watching a featured program feed or choosing from a random selection of films and shows available on-demand. The channel's website also features news stories, blog links and a DVD store for purchasing many of the programs seen on the channel. Last month, MNM-TV released a new original documentary called, "The Legend of Timbuktu". This powerful television special explores the untold Islamic history of ancient West Africa. The network's upcoming program schedule also includes several additional new television specials and a new reality TV series later this year. Currently MNM is 100% advertiser supported and free to the public. However with production and operating cost mounting, the network is reaching out to private donors for additional support. "To keep our programming free, we advertising support and donations from those who believe in our effort," added Muqaddin. "However, this is not just about us. Muslims must take control of their brand, so to speak. We have to support Muslim media in America. If not, our voices will continue only amounting to a whisper in a stadium of screaming voices." MNM-TV has now added a donate button to it's website allowing private individuals to help support network. Viewers can also purchase DVD's, whose revenues are completely used for operating cost. Of course, advertiser and sponsorship support is essential. Businesses and entrepreneur's can get cost-effective advertising, including having their TV commercials produced, and reach the thousands of consumers visiting the MNM Television and Social Network. "We would like MNM to become a complete interactive social media gateway providing secure access to broadcast, live chat, audience interaction and social network integration," added Muqaddin. "In the future, viewers will not only be able to watch quality Islamic TV programming, but also upload and share news, videos and photos of activities taking place in their communities."
