(SOUTHFIELD, MI, 1/3/2014) – On Monday, January 6 at 9 p.m. (ET) HBO will premiere their new documentary, "The Education of Mohammad Hussein".
Filmed in Detroit, the documentary tracks the impact Islamophobia has on both a Detroit student who attends an Islamic school and on his peers and the broader Detroit Muslim community. It also highlights the interfaith community's response to Pastor Terry Jones coming to Dearborn to burn the Quran. |
Loki Films, which also produced the awarded winning film DETROPIA, worked in coordination with Al-Ikhlas Training Academy and the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations on the documentary.
"We welcome such opportunities to partner with filmmakers to highlight how people of goodwill work with American Muslims to challenge bigotry and religious intolerance," said CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid. |
